Nannies Come Home to Roost

Sinclair Lewis’s bumper sticker friendly maxim, “When fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross,” may be all the rage these days, yet from my New York City perch it seems more likely fascism will come weighed down with studies by self-congratulatory “public interest” groups and carrying a sign reading, “It’s for the children!” Few grasp this new paradigm quite as well as Denver Post columnist David Harsanyi, whose wonderful, essential new book, Nanny State: How Food Fascists, Teetotaling Do-Gooders, Priggish Moralists, and Other Boneheaded Bureaucrats Are Turning America Into a Nation of Children provides not only perhaps the authoritative account of the bipartisan conspiracy to institute a “low-grade, feel-good tyranny that has downgraded freedom to a mere annoyance,” but also one of the most stirring battle cries for a “second American Revolution” to counter it. “In an ideal world,” Harsanyi writes, “karma would decree that these irritating and dangerous activists be taken behind the woodshed by a dozen minutemen re-enactors for a momentous ass-kicking.” Harsanyi was kind enough to discuss Nanny State with TAS last week.

Hitting The Wall

THE CONTEMPORARY CRISIS
Hitting the Wall
by Jeff Nyquist
Fri, 7 Sep 2007 15:00:00 GMT
divider
The crisis deepens. Red flags and warning indicators are appearing, one after another — in the financial markets, in the skies over the Arctic, in a broken White House with its broken strategy, in a shopping mall regime where the operative rhyming slogan is “shop until you drop,” and the rhyming subtext follows: “the sheep are asleep.” All cultures are corrupt and dishonest to some extent. But here, at the pinnacle of civilization, with unprecedented technology and access to knowledge, the intellectual level is declining. Elevation of mind is absent. To succeed a civilization requires certain minimum levels of courage and truthfulness — from individuals as well as nations. And today, sadly, in Europe or Asia, Latin America or Africa, the continents of man are sinking into a Great Dark Ocean of confusion. We are degenerates — part of a degenerated race of beings who’ve lost something vital within ourselves.

Hat Tip to 1stCav for the heads up on Ron Winter and the link to his blog. A must read for all….
Hillary Clinton on Fox News Sunday: I yak, yak, yak, HATE, natter, natter, natter, BUSH, etc., etc., etc.

This is a Skerry thought I know, but Hillary Clinton could be our next Commander In Chief if we’re not real careful here folks.
Socialism is definitely on the march in America, and it will only add to the burden we all bare in the long run.
I’ve about had it with this whole damn clown act, and intend to counter it with all my heart and soul. We’ve made this country what it is by doing what had to be done in the first place. It sure as hell didn’t have anything to do with a “nanny state” of mind. That would be counter productive to getting the job done right in the first place, now wouldn’t it? Nothing in-Nothing out ……..

Clinton On Health Care

She said she could envision a day when “you have to show proof to your employer that you’re insured as a part of the job interview — like when your kid goes to school and has to show proof of vaccination,” but said such details would be worked out through negotiations with Congress.

HHO Gas: A Welders Dream?

September 15th, 2007 by Exspider

Image

This whole concept of producing hydrogen on demand is something that fascinates me to no end. Is it Illusion or Reality? Hmmm… Let me think about it for a couple more years…
Anyhow, take time to watch this VIDEO

“Brown’s/Rhode’s Gas” Debunked HERE

There’s a lot of research being done and this may become a viable option for the creation of energy on demand using hydrogen at some point. But it can’t replace the other byproducts we get from our fossil fuels (oil). It could reduce our dependence on them at best.
divider

While we’re on the subject, check this guy out. Salt Water To Fire Using RF energy to do the work. I wouldn’t bet on that happening either………

Jerry Woodall does have some interesting research going on over at Purdue however.

Breakthrough Process Generates Hydrogen from Aluminum Alloy

Either way; Nothing In=Nothing Out, right? Physics doesn’t play second fiddle when it comes to life. We’re one and the same; with a little help from God……..

Gotta run for now. I’ll be out back stacking up my carbon credits.

Hat tip to Nuke for keeping me on my toes.

Russ Vaughn: Of Eagles And Chickens

September 12th, 2007 by Exspider

We Americans are a mix of birds,
Some soarers, others grounders;
And from their strong, enduring words,
More Eagles were among our Founders.
But different birds this domain share,
Some soaring, some just clucking;
While Eagles soar, patrol the air;
Penned Chickens wait for plucking.

Eagles have sharp, raptor eyes,
Not so in birds fear stricken;
An Eagle fights to own his skies,
Not so the hen-housed Chicken.
Feckless fowl, they placidly peck,
Flocking to their foolish fate,
Flashing blade on feathered neck,
Must they always learn too late?

That’s why we use the very word
To taunt those who won’t fight;
A Chicken is some fear-filled bird,
Whose fear provokes his plight.
Frightened fowl will surrender all,
Hoping for a peaceful ending,
Unmindful that their heads may fall,
Blind to bright blades descending.

But Eagles being bolder birds,
Seek our enemies in their lair,
Screaming Eagles, forgoing words,
Strike with deadly talons there.
Proud raptors who together fight
Know something Chickens never will,
Love of country and birthright,
A rara avis grounder skill.

The anti-war capons of Answer
And hysterical hens of Code Pink,
Let bird flu turn into fowl cancer,
And their pen is beginning to stink.
As they flock to the Mall in September
To disgrace and dishonor their nation
It would behoove them to remember
Watchful Eagles are on station.

And no, I didn’t get these from NPR. I don’t know why I listen to that crap on the way to and from work. Sounds more like a Democrat campaign ad than anything else. Disgusting drivel to say the least.

Report: Israel spots nuclear installations in Syria

Washington official says Israeli surveillance shows possible Syrian nuclear installation stocked by North Korea, Israeli Arab newspaper claims target of alleged raid last week was Syrian missile base financed by Iran.

Right Truth has more on this HERE

divider

In keeping with the “Illusion Or Reality” theme I’m going to give you a link to another of Right Truths posts.

Nuke ourselves, then nuke Iran?

Here’s a conspiracy theory for you. Remember those six nukes that were loaded ‘by mistake’ and flown from North to South across the United States? According to one account, “six nuclear weapons disappeared from Minot AFB in North Dakota and only five nuclear weapons were discovered at Barksdale AFB in Louisiana.” Which leads the author to one chilling conclusion: “Someone, operating under a special chain of command within the United States Air Force, just stole a nuclear weapon.” Soooooo, what will happen to this nuke?

Right Truth. Bookmark her site. You won’t be disappointed.

Vietnam Memorial Wall (DC) Defaced Sept 7-8, 2007

September 11th, 2007 by Exspider

This is the mind set of the anti-war crowd in a nutshell. They are no different than those that turn grave stones over in our cemeteries. They are child like in nature, and have no respect for anyone or anything. They are a bunch of chicken shit losers that don’t have the balls to fight a real war.

The perpetrators used a liquid with an oil base to inflict some very significant damage to the entire length of the wall. I know I’m not alone in my outrage at the audacity of these clowns that can only see America and its hero’s as something to be trashed.

The YouTube video from Free Republic is HERE

Eagles Up has the pictures posted HERE also.

image

I thought they watched our monuments in DC a lot closer than this folks. Don’t they use cameras to monitor all of that important stuff?
Anyhow, the Code pink and ANSWER crowd make a big splash every time they show up in DC. It’s nothing but a clown show of course, but the main stream press eats it up, and won’t even touch something like this. Nooooo….. It’s all about how well the Hsu thing was handled by the Clinton Camp. I’m really starting to hate clowns. They sure as hell shouldn’t be running the rodeo.

My Hero: A Tribute To Duane Lilly

September 8th, 2007 by Exspider

American Hero

My cousin Warren Duane Lilly was 82 when he passed away last week. He and his wife Wilma just celebrated their 60th anniversary July 19, 2007. He served as a Marine during WW2 and received a Purple Heart for injuries he suffered on Saipan, and another one in the battle for Iwo Jima. He was awarded a Silver Star for his actions on Iwo Jima also. He was a true Marine, father, and husband. He never forgot what he learned on those distant beaches while fighting for his country and will always be my hero. I’ll miss him.

Duane and Wilma

This is one of those moments in life that are tough for this Old War Dog to handle folks. I don’t like crying, but sometimes I just can’t help it.

We laid him to rest Sunday with a 21 gun salute and our tears. He’ll live forever in Gods grace, and never be forgotten for his service to this country and his family.
See ya later Duane………

Rurik: A Trip To Russia

September 5th, 2007 by Exspider

Rurik is a well renowned scholar when it comes to Russia and aviation history. He’s the author of these three excellent books on the subject so check them out. This guy knows his airplanes as well as the history behind them.

He just returned from another trip to that part of the world, and has some very interesting and sobering observations of life over there. The following is his post at Veteran-American Voices recounting his trip and his impressions of current day life in Russia.
If you read anything today, read this…..

Rurik

First Reactions on the 2007 Russian Trip

Nice job George. I’ll email you later when and if I can get this spinning ball to slow down just a little. Sheesh, sometimes gravity wins, but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try to keep the blue side up now does it?……..

Gathering Of Eagles September 15, 2007: Update!

September 5th, 2007 by Exspider

Eagles Up: Website

This upcoming event to counter the ANSWER crowd and the leftist whiners/losers in Washington, DC on 09/15/07 is getting some good coverage. I for one can appreciate the fact that we’re attracting the attention of some of the major players in American politics this time around. G. Gordon Liddy is on our side anyhow, so you can bet it’s a good thing we’re doing for our country here folks. Thanks for giving us a shout-out on todays show G-Man.
For those of you that can make the trip; thanks from the bottom of my heart, it makes this Veteran-American (Vietnam Veteran) proud to be associated with all of you. You’re the best of the best.

Spider Webs

September 1st, 2007 by Exspider

You can’t imagine how tough it is for me to post something from NPR. I will give them a little credit for actually coming up with something interesting for a change…, Naw, NPR shouldn’t get credit for this one. The spiders did it for them…….
Even Spiders Know Everything Is Bigger In Texas

Lake Tawakoni State Park in Texas has some new tenants: spiders – lots of spiders. And they’ve spun a giant communal web.

Several hundred yards along a nature trail have been taken over by the elaborate arachnid construction. Webs stretch from tree to tree — and down to the ground. On The Web

God Bless Texas!

ECONOMIC WARFARE IN THE FINAL PHASE

by J. R. Nyquist

This week the French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, warned against Russia’s use of energy as an instrument of foreign policy. Speaking before his ambassadors, the French President said: “Russia is imposing its return [as a great power] on the world scene by employing its assets, notably oil and gas, with a certain brutality.” A great power ought to be gentle in its economic or political superiority. The Russians, however, are accustomed to a more cynical use of their advantages. The language of the Russian president includes mockery, condescension and threats. The West cringes, the East advances. Who cares what the weak countries think? Their feelings are without consequence.

Russia is not only engaged in a military buildup. Russia wants to use its economic muscles. You might ask what economic muscles Russia could have? It is bankrupt, backward, hobbled, demoralized and generally dismissed as an effective economic actor. We must remember, however, that positions in the world economy can change, that tables can be turned. Last June, at the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg, the Russians called for a “new international financial architecture.” Here is Russia’s “Final Phase” economic strategy. The financial vulnerability of capitalism is growing. Keep pushing oil prices higher. Weaken the dollar. Precipitate the inevitable “crisis of capitalism.” Let the have-not nations rise up. Let them throw off their dollar shackles. Let them unite with Russia and China in “one clenched fist.”
